In 2022/23, Year 6 students from Bradford schools embarked on a unique textile project, guided by renowned fashion designer Rauf Zahid. This initiative aimed to connect students with the city’s rich textile history and inspire them to create textiles reflecting their personal experiences and cultural heritage.
Teachers from participating schools underwent a comprehensive professional development program, collaborating with Zahid and museum experts. This enabled them to deliver engaging gallery-based activities and workshops at the V&A, Cartwright Hall, and Bradford Industrial Museum.

At Bradford Industrial Museum, students learned about the city’s textile heritage and participated in printmaking workshops.
